This product is great to have on hand as a temporary substitute for hay. Especially, if the guinea pigs don't like a new batch of hay or a portion/layer of hay. The pigs will just go for the hay cubes which tells me they don't like the hay offered for the day. Plus, if they run out of picking threw the fresh hay, with only brown left, the piggies can nibble on these hay cubes. It gives me the security that they are always getting hay at all times.

A delicious snack for my guinea pigs morning, noon and night...with NO hay mess in their enclosure!
I bought these for my guinea pigs because they don't get the hay all over their enclosure....way more convenient...and they can drag them into their "cozy houses" at night for a snack.

Rabbit approved!
We love these cubes. We used to buy our lionshead rabbit the loose straw timothy hay but it ends up all over and eventually makes its way outside of the cage. These cubes fit in the palm of your hand, so they don't take up too much cage space and my rabbit nibbles one cube every 4-7 days. There are approx. 8 or so cubes per 16oz bag.

Guinea pigs liked them.
In addition to their Timothy Hey I gave them these in their cage. They nibble on both. I would only use these as a treat or something to peak their interest. Not a substitute for the daily hey they need. I will purchase this again. They last awhile for my two adult guinea pigs.

Keeps Chinchilla Neat and Full!!!
I've owned a Chinchilla for several years now and the most annoying thing about these adorable pets is the amount of loose hay spillover they cause. It came to a point were I would have to sweep under my Chins cage every other day just to have his area look somewhat presentable. Anyway, I found these cubes at my local Petsmart a few years ago and have never gone back. The cubes are neat, condensed, and my Chinchilla eats them up! I highly recommend these cubes 100x over the alternative loose hay. I will note that while I used to buy these at my local Petsmart, they sadly no longer carry them :( Thankfully, amazon offers them with Prime shipping and a competitive price.

Great sub for loose hay
I really liked this product as a sub to the loose timothy hay. When I used the loose hay it would always get all over the place, all over the cage, all outside of the cage and a lot of it became spoiled by the chins droppings, so I felt a lot was wasted. I love how compact these hay cubes are, there is not hay all over the place anymore and non of it goes to waste. The chin's immediately loved it and go bonkers when every I give them a new brick.

Good for bunnies teeth
helps keep the bunnies teeth in check and satisfies their need to chew, plus the timothy hay is good for their digestive system. Keep in mind, the rabbits teeth constantly grow so therefore they always need something safe & healthy to chew on. I ordered 2 more packages of this last week and when my package arrived, 12.21.18 the end of one of the packages was open...the hay cubes smell ok but amazon packers certainly aren't doing a very good job! If they were then they would've replaced an open package product with a sealed one. Of course, why should they worry, they aren't paying for any of these items!!!!

Not for human consumption but our Chinchilla loves this stuff!
Gizmo knows when I am opening the drawer he is getting his favorite treat. He hops all over his cage in antiception of getting one....Sometime I have to give him one when i go into the draw for something else, but he just gets so excited. Since I can only review his behavior and how he devours them, technically my review is only hearsay ...I am not going to eat one...lol

Bulk buy these when the price is "right"
I buy these in bulk when the price is right for my rabbit. I found these at the local grocery store in the NW for $10... Not happening. I am not afraid of the alfalfa content because of my bunnies large size and calorie consumption. Also, these still have far less calcium than the pure alfalfa cubes that are only offered at my farm store. He loves these. Can go through one block per day if there aren't other treats, plus three are better for him than baked wheat treats. Keeps him busy during his rough days of sleeping.

Good for treats, not daily food
Bunnies can get kidney stones from alfalfa heavy diets. These cubes are a blend of Timothy and Alfalfa hay so I feel good about using these as treats for my bunny. My bunny also eats hay - not pellets, regular Timothy or Oat hay - so her diet is pretty balanced. This package should last almost 2 months as treats if you slice up or break up the cubes. Fat bunnies are NOT healthy bunnies so read up on bunny diets!
