One of the Best
This review applies only to data storage and not video. In fact, DVD+RW is more suitable for data storage. For video application, DVD-RW is more suitable. I have been using this writing surface for data storage for the past three months. The reason I refrained from writing a review for this product sooner is due to my very bad experience with Memorex 16X-24X CD-RW in which all recorded data( 15 discs in all, ie 15 out of 15 ) would become unrecognizable within a few weeks. The Verbatim DVD+RW is a reliable surface. So far I have not had a coaster, or encountered writing error during burning, or unexpected loss of recorded data. Some discs I have rewritten 10 times over while others I have appended new data to without erasing existing data on the disc, and the most important fact is the data stays and has not become corrupted. I highly recommend this disc for data storage because of its reliability. The price of this disc is slightly on the high side though. On a price per disc basis, the 30-disc spindle is more economical compared to the 10-disc pack and may be a better choice if one ever needs that many 4.7GB discs.

Great product, great price.
I have ordered these in the past and they are very good DVD's. I use them to record shows, to watch later, and then can record over them. Great product, would definitely recommend them.

A great bargain
I have a 2009 MacBook Pro and these write with high degree of speed and reliability. I have used these to record music from iTunes, copy videos, and make ISO files. Every single DVD burn attempt was successful and flawless. I had an older Sony DVD-R and they were notoriously unreliable on the same MBP laptop. I think the CD/DVD cases are definitely needed. Otherwise you will end up scratching your CD/DVD or have hard time finding a suitable CD/DVD jacket when you really need one. I was able to burn a 3.3 GB worth of ISO files in less than 15 minutes. That is fast and would certainly fill most people's needs. Do not bother with more expensive alternatives. These are cheap and good and you would probably be more than happy with the purchase. For those who want to know, the difference between DVD-R and DVD-RW is that DVD-RW can erase and rerwite whereas DVD-R can only write once. The price difference is almost negligible and you should choose DVD-RW.

Good fix for my DVD Recorders.
Great discs, no errors or coasters yet. I have these finicky Funai (Magnavox branded) DVD Recorders which mass produce coasters from DVD+/-R discs. I bought these to test before throwing them out, one unit likes the - discs and the others prefer + so you might want to try these if that's an issue for you as well. I have about five or six passes on five discs and am yet to have a coaster. On the PC side they also work like a charm but who uses DVD's on a PC anymore.

The best disks on the planet
The best disks on the planet!!! Out of over a thousand disks, I got one flawed disk! Compared to many famous brands that usually have one or two flawed disks out of ten, I cannot say enough about this brand!!! I work in film and music and never even think of using a differernt brand! If Verbatim wants to use my words of praise I give my permission without reservation! The delivery was right on time too!!! I adore this brand and would cry if they went away! You work ten hours on a disk, if it fails, you'd cry too!

This is an excellent product - hope that I can still get it or a worthy substitute
When I saw that Verbatim had discontinued this product, I was surprised and a bit upset. The "end of rewriteable DVDs" is near? I had heard that "the cloud", a dubious name for a humongous server farms at different places on the Internet, and flash drives of massive capacities would replace these DVDs, and I was skeptical but the dumbest users of technologies are often the largest numbers and they can make an obviously good product go away. That is why I ordered this product (I have ordered it many times before). The type packed without jewel cases have a higher error rate because the surface is not protected in storage. Perhaps I can continue to find this product across a variety of sellers or with this seller. (Re)writable DVDs are NOT over.

Verbatim 4.7GB DVD+RW Made in Taiwan
I am so happy with these Verbatim DVD+RW disks. My uncle repaired then transferred all my grandparents (1940's - 1970's) 8mm tapes on to DVD's. I have copied these onto the Verbatim DVD+RW then added our family tapes as they were transferred to DVD's. I copied them onto my Verbatim DVD-R and gave them as stocking stuffers to our kids. I have never had a problem with coping my home movie DVD's onto the Plus RW format disks. I only use these DVD's now as they are the most reliable brand I have used to date. In the last 10 years I have tried TDK, Maxell and Sony only to have huge problems and bad disks... At least I have been able to make many machine embroidery designed "coasters" with them, so they have not all gone to waste...lol.

The product works fine.?
I am using other Verbatim products, and I find it to be quite good with no problems as to clarity. I am sorry to say that the other Verbatim product I bought in this order the Verbatim recordable Disc DVD-R 100-Disc FFP $21.40 has not worked at all. I have used this product before with no problems. About 10-15 discs have failed to burn, I would get a "WRONG DISC" messasge. I would than substitute one of my Verbatim DVD Rewriteable Discs, which worked fine. Please advise me what to do about this problem. I refer to order # 115-6943238-7005803. At this time I have no recordable Discs DVD -R to work with, and I am running short on my DVD plus RW discs. which I am supstituting which do work very well. Thank you mstouber8@gmail.com

Great DVDs and Great Price on Amazon!!
I have been using these exact dvds to move things that I previously recorded on vhs tapes for about 3 years. I recorded shows, and several TV series, from our TV originally on vhs tapes (when that was the best way to record things). I also have been moving our family photos and events from their original recorded media over to these dvds. I then send what I have moved to the rest of my family. I am moving previously recorded shows, TV series, photos and events because I have noticed that the original media that they were recorded on are having problems. In order to preserve everything, I started to move them over to these dvds. I have NEVER had ANY problems with these dvds. They do EXACTLY what they are supposed to do. I will not purchase ANY other dvds as long as these are available. Also, if you want to buy more than 10 dvds at a time, the 30 pack spindles are definitely a better price. As sometimes these dvds are hard to find, I have hopefully bought the amount that I will need for the next few years. In my research, Amazon has the best price, especially when you buy them directly from Amazon and can take advantage of their free Prime 2 day shipping.

When USB can not be used
Verbatim is quite arguably the number one media for DVD Storage. Others may find Verbatim not as favorable as another, but for long term storage and fewest errors I have always relied upon Verbatim. I prefer to use the rewritable disc's even to this day because some machines still require a DVD to update firmware. A firmware update is something you want error free. If you own a <2011 GM automobile with navigation, this is the only way to update the maps.
